SAVANNAH Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Summit, a high-rise elderly apartment building, has had no hot water for seven days.
WSAV received a phone call on Wednesday from a woman whose mother lives in the Savannah Summit saying that the building has not had hot water since Oct. 31. Residents are concerned for their safety and have begun boiling the water to drink and bathe in.
District 5 Alderwoman Estella Edwards Shabazz, Ph.D., called WSAV on Thursday to share that there still was no hot water, but the city of Savannah was doing something about it.
Shabazz said that she received the call on day three of the hot water incident and decided to contact the 311-call center to get them involved.
