TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A new report shows that 1,000 Arizona teachers have quit since July. Local school districts recruited today at the Pima County Career Fair to fill vacant positions.
A new Arizona Department of Education report released Thursday shows how vacancies impact students, with teachers working overtime and substitutes staying long-term to fill positions.
The Sunnyside, Marana, and Tucson Unified school districts participated in the Pima County Career Fair today, collectively recruiting for hundreds of positions ranging from teachers to bus drivers and facility managers.

“We worry about having enough certified staff and having those certified teachers,” said Alexa Barajas, Sunnyside Human Resources Specialist.
