SHELTON, Conn. (WFSB) - Two Shelton men have been arrested on arson and burglary charges in connection with a house fire that occurred nearly a year ago on Village Drive.
Joseph Lapinta, 25, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree arson, first-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief. He posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
Daniel Champagne, 26, was arrested Tuesday on the same charges. He also posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
The arrests stem from an incident that occurred on December 6, 2024, when the Shelton Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Village Drive. The home was unoccupied following a previous accidental fire that had occurred days earlier.
