SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — State Rep. Drew Darby was in San Angelo on Thursday, Nov. 6, to speak about the legislative update on mental health policies in Texas.

At the Tom Green County Library, community members joined education and health professionals for a seminar where they heard about recent mental health policy changes in Austin and how Concho Valley services can be impacted.

"We have made a lot of progress on access to care, on early intervention, on addressing the nexus between the mental health system and the criminal justice system, but that also, we have a long way to go, that there are significant gaps still in the mental health care system," said Greg Hansch, NAMI Texas Executive Director.
