Authorities Thursday sought the public's help in identifying a suspect who, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, has been using other people's personal identification information to rent apartments across Los Angeles while using counterfeit checks.

The suspect would fill out rental applications with other people's personal information then provide counterfeit cashier's checks to landlords and property management companies.

In September 2025, the same suspect tried the same tactics in the Hollywood and Larchmont areas, the LAPD said.
