LORAIN, Ohio — Just hours after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully fund SNAP benefits by Friday, families in Lorain were already lining up for a hot meal at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer — unsure when their own benefits will be restored.
Thursday's ruling follows weeks of delays and partial payments that have left many low-income households without their monthly food assistance. As of today, this month's benefits still had not been paid.
Suzie, a regular SNAP recipient who spoke with 3News but did not want to go on camera, says she's preparing for the worst.
"It is hard, because I'm going to (have to) go get some food elsewhere," Suzie said. "There's going to be a lot of starving people."
