Bruce Lehrmann is alleging police wrongdoing as he fights car theft charges, all while risking arrest by failing to produce evidence of why he skipped court.

Lehrmann and his lawyer Zali Burrows missed a date in Hobart Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, with the apologetic solicitor later appearing by phone.
Ms Burrows told the court via email Lehrmann was "not available today due to urgent medical issues slash tests", seeking an adjournment.
