WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – For 33 years, the Wichita State Univeristy's men's cross-country never crowned an individual conference champion. Everything changed on Saturday.
Elkana Kipruto's journey to Wichita is one of over 8,000 miles.
"It was a long, long way. I didn't even expect that one day I would be here, but because of God, I'm here," said Kipruto.
A native of Kenya, Ely didn't expect to be suiting up for his sophomore season in a Shocker uniform, but the moment he stepped on campus, it was home. Spending his first year with Stephen F. Austin, his teammate Kelvin brought him to town.
