The stage is set for an electric playoff rematch as the surging Brother Rice Warriors (6-4) travel to face the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Eaglets (7-2) in a Friday night MHSAA Division 2 district final.
The Warriors enter riding a four-game winning streak , including last week’s 28-24 district semifinal victory at Walled Lake Western in which sophomore Deondre Hill scored the game-winning 24-yard touchdown with 1:38 remaining. Brother Rice now looks to replicate its mid-October regular-season success when it handed the Eaglets a 43-31 defeat.
St. Mary’s , winners of two in a row since that regular-season loss, dominated North Farmington 35-7 in its district semifinal behind the playmaking trio of seniors Keith Smith and Landon Depew, along with freshman standout Leo Robinson.
