Two men have been charged with murder following the death of a man in Chatham. Kent Police has also named the victim, who was found with a single stab wound at a property in Castle Road at around 10am on Saturday, November 1.

He has been identified as Charles Belsham, who was 43. Police said officers had been called following a report of a serious assault.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was treated for a single stab wound. However, he died from his injury.

An investigation was launched and, during enquiries, officers were able to link the incident to two other reported offences. This related to a car being set alight outside a home in Walderslade earlier on November 1, and the theft of a vehicle from Palmerston Road, Chatham, on Wednesday, October 29.
