ASHEVILLE - An Asheville man was arrested Nov. 4 and charged with felony human trafficking of a child after an investigation by city police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Asheville Police Department detectives responded to a report of a sexual assault of a child around 8:31 a.m. on Oct. 8, the department said in a news release. Through the investigation, police found that the some of the criminal acts were alleged to have happened outside the city of Asheville, so they contacted the local FBI office for assistance, Capt. Joe Silberman told the Citizen Times Nov. 6.
