NEW YORK (PIX11) -- LIRR commuters should brace for service changes across multiple branches this weekend as the MTA prepares to make signal upgrades.
Riders on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches will see the biggest impacts beginning at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday and lasting through 2:15 a.m. Monday, according to a notice on the MTA's website.
On the Port Jefferson branch, trains won't run between Mineola and Huntington. Service will only run in two sections, between Penn Station and Mineola, twice an hour during the day, and between Huntington and Port Jefferson, every two hours in the evening.
Shuttle buses will run hourly between Mineola and Huntington, making stops at Hicksville, Syosset, and Cold Spring Harbor. For service between Carle Place and Westbury, commuters are advise
