DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - In the early morning hours, drivers were seen the wrong lanes just after 3rd Street officially welcomed two-way traffic in downtown Davenport.
Drivers are still getting used to the major one-way street in downtown Davenport switching two-way traffic Thursday as part of a long-planned infrastructure improvement .
Davenport crews were putting down yellow stripes down in the middle of the night, and later that morning helping directly traffic.
Third Street from Marquette Street to River Drive convert from one-way to two-way traffic beginning at 5 a.m. Thursday.
City leaders say the change has been a long time coming and is part of a $14.1 million investment in city roads .
