We've seen people on bikes in Boston's Ted Williams Tunnel before. But a dog? Yes, that's right, a dog was spotted walking in the tunnel during Thursday morning's commute.

Surveillance video released by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation showed a midsized black and white dog trotting casually through the busy tunnel as cars passed by.

Thankfully, Massachusetts State Police arrived and blocked traffic so they could safely rescue the dog.

The dog was rescued near the East Boston side of the tunnel and retrieved safely by state police, according to MassDOT.
