A street in Edinburgh has been locked down by police amid an ongoing incident. ‌

Emergency services raced to Constitution Street at around 1.35pm on Friday. Residents and members of the public have been asked to avoid the area. ‌

Police confirmed the incident is related to concern for a person. ‌

Trams have also been unable to serve the stop and are now running between the airport and Balfour Street.

Images from the scene show the street swarmed with emergency service vehicles. ‌
