A locksmith has revealed a basic error that burglars adore homeowners making and can spot from miles away. Jonny, who operates for Kingdom Keys in Cheshire, posted a clip on his TikTok profile @jonnykingdomkeys, to alert homeowners about an effortless method criminals can gain access through your front or rear door. ‌

Following a visit to a client who requested their lock be changed from a dual key to a thumb turn, Jonny discovered that the lock was protruding from the door by 10 millimetres. The expert locksmith stated that "burglars love this mistake... make sure it's not on your door." ‌

‌In the clip, he explained: "Turned up on a job today and my customer wanted to swap their lock from a dual key to the thumb turn."
