Established Hampton Roads restaurant owner tries food truck venture with 'Takizimo'

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A longtime Hampton Roads restaurant owner is taking on a new venture. Takizimo is a food truck serving Latin favorites across Hampton Roads

“Dishwasher, cook, server, busboy, I’ve done everything,” Takizimo owner Wilfredo Andrade told us.

Since moving to the United States from El Salvador in 1991, Andrade has filled his résumé with restaurant jobs.

“We opened our first restaurant with my family: my brother and my dad. I have three restaurants right now,” Andrade said.

But now, Andrade is trying something new. His blue and yellow food truck, Takizimo, is hard to miss. Andrade said he wants to provide traditional Latin favorites on the go.
