PORTLAND, Ore. — Gov. Tina Kotek announced Friday that 750,000 Oregonians will receive their full November SNAP benefits despite the ongoing federal government shutdown.

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully fund November's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program by Friday after several states sued. The administration on Friday asked a federal appeals court to block that order, arguing it would require spending more than what remains in a contingency fund.

The filing came as Oregonians told KGW they had already received their full SNAP payments after a week of uncertainty.

Bree Armstrong, a mother of four from Multnomah County, said the lapse had caused her anxiety to “go through the roof.”
