New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Poole is out of the lineup for at least a week after suffering a calf injury.
"Jordan Poole has been diagnosed with a mild left vastus lateralis (quad) strain," Nola.com columnist Rod Walker reported Friday morning. "Poole will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days."
Poole, acquired in an offseason trade with the Washington Wizards for veteran guard C.J. McCollum, has averaged 17.3 points and 3.4 assists this season. He's the team's second-leading scorer behind forward Zion Williamson (22.8).
Pelicans head coach Willie Green has experimented with Poole in multiple roles — from point guard to shooting guard and sixth man. Late in games, Poole intentionally has tried to establish a pick-and-roll attack with Williamson.
The Pelicans still haven't found a solid
