IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWQC) - Police are investigating a shooting near University of Iowa Friday afternoon.
As of 2:34, police said they believe it was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public, but to remain vigilant.
The university issued a Hawk Alert saying there was gunfire reported around 1:30 near East Burlington Street and Governor Street.
Officers said they found evidence of gunfire at the scene.
The alert reported a suspect running west towards the university campus. Students were urged to avoid the area or shelter in place.
