CHRISTOPHER, Ill. (WSIL) -- Jeromy Bocook, 45, of Christopher, was found guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The verdict came after a four-day trial in Franklin County.
Franklin County State’s Attorney Abby Dinn announced that a jury of 12 citizens deliberated for approximately one hour before convicting Bocook. He was earlier charged following a disclosure by a child from Christopher who reported the abuse to her grandmother.
The grandmother reported the incident to the Zeigler Police Department. Zeigler Police Chief Ben Burkhamer then transferred the case to the Christopher Police Department, where Dinn said the crime occurred.
