MEDINA, Ohio — Highland set the tone early and never looked back, routing Brecksville-Broadview Heights, 38-7, in a Division II, Region 6 quarterfinal behind a dominant performance from running back Casey Myser and a stifling defensive effort.
The Hornets struck quickly after safety Nick Dobkowski intercepted a pass in the opening minutes. Myser capitalized on the momentum, scoring touchdowns on Highland’s first two possessions with a 5-yard run and a 13-yard run. Quarterback Grady Gibb added a 1-yard rushing touchdown less than a minute before halftime, giving the Hornets a commanding 21-0 lead entering the third quarter.
“We were preaching all week, ‘Just give them no hope,’” Myser said. “I think we did that, I think we did that very well.”
