A paedophile who kept a six-year-old girl as a 'sex slave' has been spared the death penalty. ‌

Daniel Callihan, 37, stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Callie Brunett, 35, more than 50 times, before kidnapping her two young daughters, aged just six and four years old on June 11 last year. The beast then drove the children more than 130 miles away. ‌

He then suffocated the four-year-old girl to death "by holding [her] closely against his chest" after he sexually abused her , allegedly assisted by partner Victoria Cox, 34. The older victim was then kept captive as a "sex slave" in a filthy dirt pit, alongside the corpse of her younger sister. On June 13, Callie's body was discovered by a relative, who reported the disappearance of her two daughters. ‌
