CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WROC) — Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum has canceled Saturday's scheduled Christkindl Dinner Dance due to threats of violence towards the event.
The Museum's Board of Directors posted a statement on Saturday via Facebook, informing community members that the event would be canceled out of an abundance of caution and safety following a "terrorist threat" that had been made.
According to the Canandaigua Police Department, officers were made aware on Friday afternoon that an email threatening violence was sent about the event. Canandaigua PD, in collaboration with the New York State Police, then proceeded to open an investigation to determine the origin and credibility of the email.
