DICKINSON — The Dickinson State Blue Hawks walked into halftime trailing No. 5 Montana Tech 31-0, a deficit that threatened to turn the season finale into a runaway. Instead, the Blue Hawks showed some resilience, outscoring the Orediggers 7-0 in an eventual 31-7 loss in the season finale on Nov. 8 at Biesiot Activities Center.

Fifth-year senior linebacker Riley Waters called the second half, “The Blue Hawk culture.”

“We made some mistakes across the board that if we don't make those mistakes, it's a closer game,” Waters said. “But we came out in that second half, and we knew that we wanted to see what kind of character our team had. We could either lie down and take it or fight, and we ended up outscoring them in the second half, so I think that's at least a decent way to go out.”
