HARTFORD, Conn. — From powerful drumline performances to high-energy drill teams, Saturday’s "Stomp the Violence" event in Hartford was all about promoting positivity and community for local youth.
The goal was to reach kids through the power of music and dance — while creating a safe, supportive space for the city’s youngest residents.
Across Connecticut, dance groups, drumlines and step teams spent months practicing for the showcase, and their dedication was on full display. From circus-themed choreography to synchronized stepping, performers brought creativity, energy and heart to the stage.
Organizer Terry Starks said the event is about more than just competition — it’s about giving young people a positive outlet and sense of belonging.
