The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Saturday, November 8, attached eight immovable properties valued at ₹67.03 crore belonging to the Popular Front of India (PFI), an organisation accused of conspiring to commit terrorist acts across India. In an official statement, the ED said that the properties were held in the name of various trusts and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political front of PFI.
According to the intelligence agency, the investigation revealed that PFI was involved in collecting funds from within the country and abroad to commit and finance terrorist activities. The SDPI was found to be a political front for PFI, and its activities were controlled and funded by the latter.
