STARKVILLE, Miss. (WLBT) - The Mississippi State Bulldogs were unable to secure bowl eligibility on Saturday against No. 5 Georgia, losing 41-21.
The Bulldogs now fall to 5-5 on the season and 1-5 in SEC play with two more games on the schedule.
Mississippi State came out hot in this game, scoring on its first drive after a 14-play, 75-yard drive finished off by a 4-yard Kamario Taylor rushing touchdown.
Georgia responded on its first drive with a field goal to make it a 7-3 game after the first quarter.
Then came the second quarter, when Georgia outscored Mississippi State 21-0. Georgia scored a touchdown on all three of its second quarter possessions to take complete control of this game heading into the half.
