When redesigning your garden, you anticipate discovering stones and debris - but one homeowner received the fright of his life after unearthing something 'lost to time'.

He detailed how he stumbled upon a metal container in his garden and after excavating it further, he realised it was large enough to accommodate an adult person.

With this discovery, he reached the "only logical conclusion" he could consider - a forgotten burial site.

He posted on Reddit : "I think I've found a grave in my garden.

"There was a chapel on this site according to 1850-ish OS maps.

"I've contacted the council-affiliated archaeology group but had no response yet."
