Galena junior David Coisson followed up his first-place finish in the Regional cross country meet with a second-place finish at the state meet.
Coisson finished the 5-kilometer course at Rancho San Rafael Park in 15 minutes, 53 seconds, just behind winner Carter Prater, a senior at Somerset Academy Sky Pointe, in 15:42.
Reno junior Zachary Folen was fifth in 16:02 and Reno sophomore Maseco Colombant was sixth in 16:03.
Galena junior Ayden Mosby took eighth in 16:11 and Spanish Springs junior Everett Bowlin was 10th in 16:22.
Galena won the team title with 51 points; Somerset was second with 57 and Reno was third with 102.
Class 3A
Truckee senior Kiefer Willcox closed out his spectacular high school cross country career by repeating as state champion, posting a time of 15:48.
