One woman got her arm trapped in one of the biometric passport glass gates and ended up needing to be freed by a lone employee who needed to assist hundreds of disgruntled tourists
Tenerife's busiest airport has been thrown into chaos after passport machines failed with one passenger getting her arm trapped in the gates.
The airport was urged to "get its act together" after the tourists were left in in massive queues for biometric passport checks. Brit holidaymakers returning to the UK from Tenerife complained that a row of machines which read passports were "useless" and were not working or had consistently rejected valid passports.
