One person died and several others were injured after explosion in car near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort (Lal Qila) Metro Station on Monday evening. The car went up on flames and several other nearby cars were also gutted. After the blast, the national capital has been put on high alert.
According to eyewitnesses, the intensity of the blast was so powerful that the street lights in the vicinity went off.According to the Delhi Fire Department, a call about the explosion was received around 6:55 pm, after which seven fire tenders and 15 CAT ambulances were rushed to the spot. The fire spread to other nearby vehicles, five to six of which were gutted before firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.
