Wendy’s will close between 200 and 350 restaurants across the United States in a restructuring effort aimed at reversing declining sales, the fast-food chain announced Friday, CNN reports.

During a quarterly earnings call , interim CEO Ken Cook told analysts that locations targeted for closure represent a “mid single-digit percentage” of the company’s approximately 6,000 U.S. restaurants. The shutdowns will focus on sites that are underperforming and dragging down overall company results, according to CNN.

The closures begin this year and extend through 2026, though Wendy’s has not disclosed which specific locations will be affected.

The move mirrors a decision from last year when the chain closed 140 underperforming restaurants .
