Police have issued a new statement amid an ongoing investigation into a mass stabbing on board a train in Cambridgeshire.

The attack is understood to have started shortly after the train left Peterborough station on November 1. Passengers pulled the emergency alarms on the LNER service before police were called when it stopped near Huntingdon.

A total of ten casualties were rushed to hospital having sustained injuries during the attack.

Anthony Williams, 32, of Langford Road in Peterborough was remanded into custody charged with 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm and one for possession of a bladed article over the incident. He will appear at Cambridge Crown Court on December 1.
