FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KKTV) - The City of Fountain is inviting the public to a park dedication in honor of Officer Julian Becerra, who lost his life in the line of duty in February 2023.
According to a spokesperson for the city, the park within the newly-developed Aspen Ranch community will officially be named Julian “JB” Becerra Park. The dedication ceremony will occur on Wednesday at 2 p.m., and will include remarks from Fountain’s police chief and Becerra’s widow.
“Officer Becerra represented the very best of law enforcement - courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to protecting others,” Fountain Police Chief Mark Cristiani said. “This park will serve as a lasting reminder of JB’s sacrifice and the positive impact he made in our community.”
