Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton has revealed that he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor by chance: after being assigned a random drug test by the NFL.

Two weeks ago, the 31-year-old NFL player was randomly assigned to take a drug test as part of the program, and they actually found that he had a hormone level that was elevated. From there, he ended up getting this checked out and ended up having surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on Friday (November 7), one day after playing in a Thursday Night Football game against the Raiders.

In a statement posted to his social media, Alex wrote, “A little over two weeks ago, following a random test as part of the NFL’s Drug Testing Program, I received a notice that I had elevated levels of the hormone hcG in my system.”
