ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) - An Arkansas man was arrested in Rockland Saturday after police say he failed to register as a sex offender.
Rockland Police said 23-year-old Jonathon Daugherty was found sleeping in an unregistered vehicle.
Officials said Daugherty provided a false name and date of birth and tried to run, but police were able to arrest him.
After investigating, police said Daugherty had a warrant out of Arkansas for failure to register as a sex offender and failure to appear.
Authorities said he is being held at Knox County Jail on charges of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and refusal to submit to arrest.
