LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy has been arrested after allegedly using a law enforcement database to obtain information to stalk a victim, authorities said.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Dustin August is charged with improper telephone communications related to domestic violence, stalking, and malfeasance in office.

Investigators said August was off duty when he allegedly used the secure database to get the information.

According to LPSO, August was fired from the sheriff’s office after working there for nine years. He had been assigned to the communications division.

August was taken into custody on Sunday, November 9.
