GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – There are renewed efforts from the Green Bay Packers organization and beyond to honor Jack Vainisi, one of the men who helped shape the team in the 1960s, with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Vainisi, known for his scouting and recruitment skills, served the Packers in a variety of roles from 1950 to 1960. Supporters are aiming to have him inducted in the Hall of Fame’s new “Contributor” category.
“Today, as you honor my father, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for the support in my father’s name to have a place for him to be in Canton, so hopefully he will get to be there to be with his boys again,” said Valerie Huser, Vainisi’s daughter.
