PINE ISLAND, Minn. - The City of Pine Island held a workshop on Monday night to review and discuss applications for the proposed data center development, aka Project Skyway. The community in Pine Island has been concerned about the center since hearing about it months ago.

The proposed data center could meet a growing demand when it comes to data storage and artificial intelligence, with the possibility of providing more jobs.

Concerns from the community include noise, light pollution, increased utility bills, and safety issues. All were addressed in the meeting.
