MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. —
A coroner in South Carolina is raising concerns about photos and videos from tragic incidents being shared on social media.
The Marlboro County Coroner's Office posted a message on social media about what Coroner De'Aron Smith calls "a serious concern."
"Behind every tragedy is a family who is grieving and trying to process an unimaginable loss," Smith said in the post. "When graphic content is shared, it causes the family profound and lasting mental anguish. Please consider how you would feel if this were your loved one. These families deserve dignity, privacy, and respect during the most difficult time of their lives."
