New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) The historic Red Fort in the national capital was on Tuesday closed to the public for the next three days by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) following a deadly explosion that killed 10 people and injured 24 others.
In a significant development, the Delhi Police, during the day, formally classified Monday’s incident as a “bomb blast” in its First Information Report (FIR). A copy of the FIR reviewed by UNI also confirms that the explosion damaged the wall of a nearby Delhi Police outpost.
Security has been drastically heightened across the city. As a precautionary measure, units of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
Official sources have confirmed that the blast near the Red Fort was a terror attack. T
