TUI has issued a statement to concerned customers after cruise ship passengers were forced to leap overboard when a catamaran sank in the Caribbean.
The vessel was transporting passengers from the Mein Schiff 1 cruise ship during its stop at the Dominican Republic on Sunday when it went down, leaving all 55 passengers with no choice but to leap into the water, reports MirrorOnline.
The group outing on the 12-metre (39ft) craft called Boca de Yuma ended with tourists floating in the sunshine across Samana Bay, before Dominican Navy personnel mounted a rescue operation.
