It was a surprise to everyone.
The National Weather Service had issued a winter weather advisory for counties on the Cumberland Plateau and east toward the mountains, but the advisory didn't cover Nashville or the areas around it.
And yet, Winter was making herself known and had people asking: Was this the earliest recorded snow in Nashville?
Here's what we know.
What was the earliest recorded snow in Nashville
The National Weather Service in Nashville recorded trace amounts of snow Nov. 10.
Translation: Enough to notice, but not enough to measure.
Still, it wasn't the earliest snow of the winter season in Nashville.
According to the weather service, the earliest measurable snowfall was one inch on Oct. 30, 1925 .
