WOODBURY COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) - The man accused of leading authorities on a high-speed chase and then allegedly shooting at officers back in August in Sioux City was in court Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Woodbury County.

Thirty-eight-year-old Daniel Wenzel is facing several charges related to the Aug. 8 chase that went through two Siouxland counties. His bench trial began Wednesday with Wenzel pleading guilty to seven of the nearly dozen charges he is facing.

All of the charges stem from that Aug. 8 police chase. The pursuit began in Dakota County, Nebraska, where court records say a deputy attempted to stop Wenzel after learning he had outstanding felony warrants.
