SIOUX COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) - A South Dakota man will spend no more than 5 years behind bars, after pleading guilty earlier this week.

On Monday, Nov. 10, 23-year-old Daniel Alvarado of Mission Hills was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years while in the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections.

On the same day, he pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit sexual abuse which is a class D felony.

According to a press release by the Sioux County Attorney’s Office, he was also further sentenced to complete a sex offender evaluation, comply with sex offender treatment, and submit a sample of his DNA for profiling.

The Sioux County Attorney says once he is released, Alvarado is expected to register as a sex offender for life.
