ARNOLD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Salvation Army of Jefferson County reopened its food pantry for weekly distribution on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The pantry and other parts of The Salvation Army building, located at 3740 Telegraph Rd., were damaged during a fire in November of 2024, just before Thanksgiving.

“The timing is great,” said Director Larry Hostetler. “We have seen a dramatic increase in the number of people asking us for help. Between utility and rent increases and the uncertainty of SNAP benefits, there is a lot of uncertainty, especially for those low-income or fixed-income individuals. We are pleased to be a resource in this difficult time.”

Since the fire, walls have been demolished, and the pantry has expanded its footprint within the building.
