STILLWATER, Minn. — Some parents are now threatening to sue the Stillwater School District, alleging it didn't protect students from a former employee who has since been arrested for using artificial intelligence to create sexually explicit photos of kids in his care.
William Haslach hasn't worked at Stillwater's summer childcare program since 2024 and was indicted on federal charges in February.
But Imran Ali, the attorney representing two victims, says that there were complaints beforehand and he hopes the pending suit sparks changes in policies around the ever-changing technology.
"This is a systematic failure," said Ali at a press conference on Wednesday. "We have to do what's in our power to demand better."
