GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The northern lights' encore Wednesday night was another dazzling display captured by many across Minnesota.
KARE 11 meteorologist Ben Dery told Morgan Wolfe that Tuesday's show was "one of the greatest northern lights displays we have seen in the last 20 years," and Wednesday's lights didn't disappoint either.
Dery explained that we're on the waning side of Solar Cycle 25, which peaked about a year ago.
"Usually, when we are in these peak cycles, we see more energy from the sun. We see more solar flares," Dery said. "And, traditionally, the biggest solar flares happen on the tail end of these cycles, so it makes sense that we're seeing some really cool shows."
Wednesday was another one. Many posted photos of the displays they witnessed in our That's So Minnesota
