A mum who lived a lavish lifestyle after stealing £170,000 from her own mother has been jailed. ‌

A family say they have been 'torn apart' after Yvonne Langan lavished her husband and sons with the cash, a court has heard. ‌

Langan, 59, stole a total of £170,739.84 from Elizabeth Thomas, whose bank account she had control over, between April 1 2020 and January 14 2022. ‌

Of this sum, over £40,000 was transferred into the account she shared with her then husband, Paul Langan, Cornwall Live reports.

The couple from Looe in Cornwall, who have since divorced, appeared together at Truro Crown Court on Wednesday, November 12 for sentence.
